What majors does the department offer? What minors does the department offer? The department currently offers minors in French and Spanish. The College of Arts and Sciences also offers minors in language-related programs such as Asian Studies, International Affairs, Latino, Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Jewish Studies. The College of Business Administration offers a Bachelor of Science in International Business with minors in French, German, Italian, and Spanish offered by the Modern Languages department.
What is the language requirement for students pursuing a B.A. at Northeastern?
What course should a student register for if the student has studied a language in high school? Students with prior experience or coursework who enroll in a language course without taking a placement exam may be removed from a course if they are inappropriately enrolled. The placement exam is available online for Spanish, French, and German. For all other languages, please contact the Modern Languages Department at 617-373-2234 to make an appointment. What if a student scores beyond the elementary level ( 101 and 102) on the placement test?
